SILICONE RUBBER HEATERS
IMPROVE HEAT TRANSFER, SPEED WARM UPS AND DECREASE WATTAGE REQUIREMENTS
Watlow silicone rubber heaters are rugged, yet thin, lightweight and flexible. Use of these heaters is limited only by the imagination. Heat can be put where it is needed. These silicone heaters improve heat transfer, speed warm ups, and decrease wattage requirements.
Fiberglass-reinforced silicone rubber gives the heater dimensional stability without sacrificing flexibility. Because very little material separates the element from the part, heat transfer is rapid and efficient. The silicone rubber heaters are constructed with a wire-wound element or an etched foil element. The heater construction creates a very thin heater allowing it to fit applications where space is limited.
- Designed to the exact shape and size needed which conforms to the component and/or equipment
- More than 80 designs available immediately from stock reduces downtime
- Constructed with wire-wound or etched foil elements provides the desired flexibility for many dynamic applications and delivers low mass and easily repeatable distributed watt densities
- Moisture and chemical-resistant silicone rubber material provides longer heater life
- Vulcanizing adhesives or fasteners allows heaters to be easily bonded to parts

MINERAL INSULATED THERMOCOUPLES – STYLE AR (CONNECTION HEAD) & AT (FOR USE WITH THERMOWELL)
WATLOW’S MINERAL INSULATED (MI) THERMOCOUPLES ARE FAST-RESPONDING, DURABLE AND CAPABLE OF HANDLING HIGH TEMPERATURES.
Manufactured with best-in-class XACTPAK®, Watlow’s trademark for metal sheathed, mineral insulated (MI) thermocouple material, XACTPAK responds fast because the protective metal outer sheath allows use of smaller diameter thermocouple conductors. The rock hard compacted MgO insulation further enhances the sensor’s ability to “read” temperature by transferring heat quickly to the measuring junction.
The XACTPAK protecting sheath and compacted insulation outperform bare wire thermocouples in most applications.

MULTICOIL™ HEATERS
MULTIPLE COILS AND THERMOCOUPLES PACKAGED IN ONE SHEATH FOR QUICK INSTALLATION
The MULTICOIL heater tubular element with multiple coils and/or thermocouples inside one sheath answers the need for a versatile, innovative tubular multiple coil heater. Watlow’s patented method of packaging a thermocouple inside of a heater with one or more resistance coils gives the ability to sense a heater’s internal temperature accurately, every time.
Moreover, this is the first tubular heater in the industry with three-phase capability. The three coil, three-phase heater will offer a compact package solution while delivering the full power required in a compact heater package. Previously three separate heaters would have been required to do the same job; therefore Watlow’s MULTICOIL heater capabilities save money.
- Three-phase capability results in one element versus three, lower amperage, reduced installation time and lower overall cost
- Multiple coil operations reduces inventory by allowing dual voltage capability
- Versatile forming capabilities forms into many configurations
- Internal thermocouple construction eliminates contamination buildup around the external sensing tip, reducing the possibility of false readings

MULTIPOINT THERMOCOUPLES – STYLE AW
ACCURATELY MEASURES TEMPERATURES AT VARIOUS LOCATIONS
Temperature variances exist in all systems, regardless of materials, working fluid or system design. There is not a process that involves heating a particular medium where temperature of that medium is consistent throughout— temperature gradients always exist. Sensing temperature at a single location during a process is acceptable for many applications because temperature gradients are often insignificant. However, there is a need for many applications to monitor temperature in multiple locations to ensure a safe, accurate and cost efficient process. Installing multiple, independent temperature sensors may be impractical due to cost or space limitations.
Multipoint temperature sensors accurately measure temperatures at various locations along the sensor’s length. They are used across a broad range of processes and installations—predominately in applications involving a large or complex process where close temperature control is necessary.
Multipoint temperature sensors are designed to meet requirements of specific applications that include temperature, pressure, chemical environments, time response and number of points required. Sensors are constructed from a variety of protecting tube materials that use XACTPAK mineral insulated, metal-sheathed cable. Multipoint temperature sensors are available in standard or special ASTM thermocouple calibration tolerances. For applications requiring extreme accuracy, special constructions can be made with platinum resistance temperature detectors (RTDs).

POLYIMIDE BRACKET TUBE & WIRE THERMOCOUPLE
DESIGNED TO MEASURE ROLLER TEMPERATURE
The Polyimide thermocouple, when used with the aluminum bracket, is designed primarily to measure roller temperature. Light pressure on the roller enables the Polyimide thermocouple to measure roller surface temperature without using slip rings. This type of set-up greatly reduces lag time and eliminates slip rings cost and maintenance. It can also be used to measure conveyor belt temperatures and any other moving part by riding gently on the part surface.
