• WATROD AND FIREBAR ANSI FLANGE IMMERSION HEATERS

AGENCY CERTIFIED TUBULAR HEATERS IDEAL FOR HEATING LIQUIDS, GASES, TANKS AND PRESSURE VESSELS REQUIRING HIGHER KILOWATTS

Watlow flanged immersion heaters are easy to install and maintain. Designed for heating liquids and gases in tanks and pressure vessels, flanged immersion heaters are ideal for applications requiring higher kilowatts.

Watlow flanged immersion heaters are made with WATROD or FIREBAR tubular elements brazed or welded to a flange. Stock flange heaters are equipped with a general purpose terminal enclosure.

Flanged immersion heaters, with FIREBAR elements, also answer the need for liquid immersion applications requiring high kilowatts in small tanks. The FIREBAR element’s unique flat surface geometry packs more power in a smaller bundle, with lower watt density, making it especially well-suited for petroleum-based liquid heating applications.

    • UL® and CSA component recognition
    • ANSI and ANSI compatible 2, 2½, 3 thru 48 inch flanges
    • All units are inspected and/or tested to ensure element-to-flange pressure seals do not leak
    • Integrel thermowells provide convenient temperature sensor insertion and replacement without draining the fluid being heated
    • Standard, general purpose terminal enclosure for easy access to wiring

  • FIREROD® IMMERSION HEATERS

COMPACT HEATER ENABLES VERSATILE HEATING SYSTEM DESIGN

FIREROD water immersion heaters are ideal for replacing large screw-plug immersion heaters. Because of its compact size the product can be very versatile when designed into a heating system.

These water immersion heaters come complete with a brass 3⁄4 inch National Pipe Thread (NPT) double threaded fitting, which allows you to add conduit boxes. Also, FIREROD immersion heaters are sealed at the lead end with a silicone rubber seal.

Solid copper leads, with silicone rubber sleeves, are provided for unrestricted wiring. These units are recommended for immersion in water or 90+ percent water soluble solutions.

    • Nickel-chromium resistance wire precisely centered in the unit ensures even, efficient distribution of heat to the sheath
    • MgO insulation compacted to the proper density results in high dielectric strength and contributes to faster heat-up
    • Alloy 800 sheath resists corrosion from water
    • Metallurgically-bonded conductor pins for trouble-free electrical continuity
    • 240 and 480VAC voltage allows flexibility in wiring the heater for use in your particular applications

  • FIREBAR® SINGLE/DOUBLE-ENDED HEATERS

FIREBAR heating elements provide added heating performance over standard round tubular heating elements—especially for immersion applications in petroleum-based liquids requiring high kilowatts.

The FIREBAR’s unique flat surface geometry packs more power in shorter elements and assemblies, along with a host of other performance improvements. These include:

    -Minimizing coking and fluid degrading
-Enhancing the flow of fluid past the element’s surface to carry heat from the sheath
-Improving heat transfer with a significantly larger boundary layer allowing much more liquid to flow up and across the sheath’s surface
FIREBAR elements are available in single- and double-ended constructions with one inch or 5⁄8 inch heights. These two configuration variables make it possible to use FIREBAR elements instead of round tubular elements in virtually all applications.

FINBAR is a special version of the one inch, single-ended FIREBAR. FINBAR is specially modified with fins to further increase surface area for air and gas heating applications.

    • 70 percent greater surface area per linear inch compared to a 0.430 in. (11 mm) diameter round tubular heater
    • Compacted MgO insulation maximizes thermal conductivity and dielectric strength
    • Precision wound nickel-chromium resistance wires
    • 0.040 in. (1 mm) thick MgO walls transfer heat more efficiently
    • Three resistance coil design readily adapts to a variety of electrical sources and wattages outputs

  • SILICONE RUBBER HEATERS

IMPROVE HEAT TRANSFER, SPEED WARM UPS AND DECREASE WATTAGE REQUIREMENTS

Watlow silicone rubber heaters are rugged, yet thin, lightweight and flexible. Use of these heaters is limited only by the imagination. Heat can be put where it is needed. These silicone heaters improve heat transfer, speed warm ups, and decrease wattage requirements.

Fiberglass-reinforced silicone rubber gives the heater dimensional stability without sacrificing flexibility. Because very little material separates the element from the part, heat transfer is rapid and efficient. The silicone rubber heaters are constructed with a wire-wound element or an etched foil element. The heater construction creates a very thin heater allowing it to fit applications where space is limited.

    • Designed to the exact shape and size needed which conforms to the component and/or equipment
    • More than 80 designs available immediately from stock reduces downtime
    • Constructed with wire-wound or etched foil elements provides the desired flexibility for many dynamic applications and delivers low mass and easily repeatable distributed watt densities
    • Moisture and chemical-resistant silicone rubber material provides longer heater life
    • Vulcanizing adhesives or fasteners allows heaters to be easily bonded to parts

  • PUMP AND GAS LINE HEATING SYSTEMS

INCREASE TOOL UPTIME AND PROCESS YIELDS

Watlow’s gas line heaters are designed to regulate temperatures in gas lines in order to prevent condensation in the gas line.

Tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS), boron trichloride (BCl3), aluminum chloride (AlCl3), chlorine trifluoride (ClF3) and dichlorosilane (DCS) are gases that condense or liquefy due to a phase shift at low temperatures. In semiconductor processes, the condensation occurs in the gas line and puddles in the shower head before being injected into the vacuum chamber. A substantial number of wafer defects will occur if liquefied gases are injected into the vacuum chamber. Uniform heating of the lines with gas line heaters will prevent condensation. TEOS lines are typically heated above 194°F (90°C) and BCl3 above 86°F (30°C), depending on pressure and flow rate. The optimum line temperature will vary depending on the process parameters.

    • Easy to install two part system which conveniently fits on most gas line configurations
    • Flexible heater design gives engineers the flexibility to easily customize the thermal profile for each gas line application and allows quick prototyping to determine energy distribution requirements for process improvement
    • Flexible standard system components eliminates unnecessary lead times for custom designs

  • 375 FINNED STRIP HEATERS

EFFICIENTLY CONDUCTS HEAT FROM NICKEL-CHROME ELEMENT WIRE TO THE SHEATH

Watlow’s 375 finned strip heaters are constructed of highly-compacted MgO-based insulation, which conducts heat efficiently from the nickel chromium element wire to the sheath. Two-inch wide (51 mm) aluminized steel fins are attached in a way that maximizes surface contact so heat is transferred into the air faster. Lower sheath temperature and element life are all maximized by this finned construction.

Finned strip heaters com in available lengths from 5 1⁄2 to 48 in. (140 to 1220 mm).

    • Nickel chromium element wire is centered for heat uniformity
    • Aluminized steel sheath operates at higher temperatures and reduces corrosion

  • 375 HIGH-TEMPERATURE STRIP HEATERS

RUGGED HEATER CAPABLE OF HIGH TEMPERATURES AND HIGH WATT DENSITIES

Named for its 0.375 in. (9.5 mm) thickness, the rugged Watlow 375 strip heater is capable of both high temperatures and high watt densities.
