WATROD™ ENCLOSURE HEATERS
PREVENT FREEZING AND CONDENSATION IN ELECTRICAL AND MECHANICAL HOUSINGS
WATROD enclosure heaters are designed to prevent freezing and condensation in electrical and mechanical housings. The WATROD heater element is enclosed in a perforated, aluminized-steel bracket to prevent direct contact with the heating element.
The enclosure heater’s stainless steel sheath wall resists corrosion and protects the heating coil from exposure while the silicone resin seal provides protection against humid storage conditions and is effective up to 390°F (200°C).

SILICONE RUBBER ENCLOSURE HEATERS
RUGGED, RELIABLE AND SAFE TO OPERATE
Designed for freeze and condensation protection, Watlow’s enclosure heaters are rugged, reliable and safe to operate. These rectangular-shaped, wire-wound silicone rubber enclosure heaters can be ordered by themselves with adhesive or vulcanized to an aluminum mounting plate. A thermostat can be attached to the heater or mounted separately. Pictured are enclosure heater units with thermostat on heater in foreground and heater with remote thermostat in background.
- Pressure sensitive adhesive mounting for quick and easy installation
- Several standard thermostat set points ensures protection against freezing with minimal energy consumption
- Remote thermostat option provides optimal choice of heater location versus temperature control location
- No exposed electrical connections creates a safe and reliable operation
- Multiple lead options accommodate a variety of wiring requirements

RAYMAX® PANEL HEATERS
IDEAL FOR PROCESS HEATING REQUIRING “HOT-FACE” TEMPERATURES ABOVE 1000 DEGREES F.
Applying radiant panel heaters can be complicated. However, Watlow’s engineering staff has the level of training and expertise required to meet most application requirements. Watlow provides a high degree of technical support such as calculating the watt density and temperature requirements and recommending system components such as sensors and controllers.
- Watlow engineering and application support helps projects run smoothly
- Watlow sensors and controllers are completely compatible with RAYMAX heaters for a single-source, customized thermal system
- Light weight, Low mass design

LDH SERIES AND D SERIES DUCT HEATERS
EASILY ADAPTED TO MANY NON-PRESSURIZED AIR HEATING SYSTEMS
Watlow duct heaters are constructed of sturdy 0.430 in. (11 mm) diameter WATROD heating elements mounted to a 1⁄4 in. (6 mm) thick steel flange. These air duct heaters are easily adapted to many non-pressurized air-heating systems.
Duct heaters are easily installed in applications requiring a wide range of temperature versus air flow combinations.
The modular duct heater offers increased reliability. The individual modules are removable through the housing of the assembly, which eliminates the need to pull the complete heater from the ductwork. This reduces downtime costs because the heating elements can be replaced individually. Performance improvements include quicker response time and reduced infiltration from the air stream being heated into the electrical enclosure.
Watlow air duct heaters offer advantages over gas or oil fired and open coil electric units with:
-Installation flexibility—no flues or fuel lines
-100 percent energy efficient—no energy loss up the flue
-Universal availability of electricity
-Resistance coil in sheath is protected from corrosive environments
-Duct heaters with general purpose enclosures meet UL® and CSA component recognition to 480 and 600VAC maximum respectively—UL® and CSA file numbers are E52951 and 31388.- Long life alloy 800 sheath resists corrosion/oxidation while protecting resistance coils against contamination
- MgO insulation filled elements compacted to rock hard density maximizes dielectric strength, heat transfer and life
- Field replaceable heating elements permits easy service and reduces downtime
- General purpose terminal enclosure offers easy access to wiring
- WATROD hairpins are recompacted after bending to eliminate hot spots and electrical insulation voids

ECO-HEAT® SYSTEM
WATLOW’S ECO-HEAT SYSTEM FOR DIESEL GENERATORS UP TO 9L
Low exhaust gas temperatures (resulting from low load or low ambient conditions) can compromise the performance of your diesel generator’s aftertreatment system and eventually lead to unplanned downtime and expensive repairs. Whether your aftertreatment configuration has a DPF, an SCR or just a DOC, Watlow’s ECO-HEAT system delivers reliable electric heat that can quickly raise the exhaust gas temperature to the correct level.
Designed to be installed in the exhaust pipe, the ECO-HEAT system places heat directly where it is needed. It uses electricity from your diesel generator to operate when exhaust gas temperatures are too low. Unlike an external load bank that requires additional space and wastes heat to the surrounding environment, the ECO-HEAT system is compact and efficient. You can think of it as a smart internal load bank for your diesel generator. When you place a higher load demand on your generator, the ECO-HEAT system will shut off as the engine exhaust temperature reaches an acceptable threshold.
- Reduce fuel consumption by over 50 percent as compared to an external load bank
- Enables passive diesel particulate filter (DPF) to regenerate more effectively
- Avoid unplanned downtime and expensive service calls
- Eliminate the need for an external load bank
- Place exhaust heat exactly where it is needed

CERAMIC FIBER HEATERS
THE BETTER FURNACE TECHNOLOGY HEATER
Ceramic fiber heaters offer some of the highest temperature heating element capabilities in the Watlow family of heaters. Heating units constructed of ceramic fiber insulation isolate the heating chamber from the outside. Ceramic fiber heaters are extremely low mass, high insulation value units with self-supported heating elements. Many applications can benefit from the convenience of the heating element and insulation combined into one package. Its lightweight, low-density properties make it ideally suited for high temperature applications requiring low thermal mass.
- High temperature ICA resistance elements bounds integrally into required position
- Lightweight, low-density alumina-silica composition molded into shape ensures a firm, thermal shock resistant, self-supporting unit at all operating temperatures
- Operating temperatures up to 2200°F (1204°C) provides high-temperature performance not possible with many other heater types
- Low mass ceramic fiber insulation allows the heater to reach process temperature quickly, efficiently heating the load instead of itself
- Works directly off common power line voltages eliminating the need for expensive transformers or complex power control systems
